We were so impressed by the creativity of our campers this summer at Artistic Endeavours! The children were enthusiastic to try different techniques and problem solve when parts of the process were more challenging. A big thank you to our many guests artists this summer! We all enjoyed learning from you, and with you.
We had a fantastic first week with our wonderful campers! They created many beautiful pieces of art and were thrilled with their projects. Check out the photos of several of our pieces. We were especially pleased that we worked with some mediums that the children had never experienced before and their positive reactions!
We also had fun learning with three visiting artists during our first week. They each had different techniques and skills to share with our campers! We look forward to week two starting July 16!! We hope that your child will join us to experience the joy of creation!! The Artistic Endeavours team spent three Fridays in June creating Eco-Art at Cedarbrae School. Cedarbrae School held option classes on Friday mornings and invited us to host an option for their young artists. Our focus was on creating art projects using mainly reused materials. As one of the Fridays was World Oceans Day, we decided to "shine a light" on ocean creatures and how the children can do their part in protecting the oceans by reusing and recycling at home. Our Division One Eco-Artists created sea turtles from reused cardboard and tissue paper, with clear plastic bowls for shells and LED lights inside. Our Division Two Eco-Artists created creatures such as dolphins, seahorses, angel fish and mahi-mahi (dolphinfish). We look forward to creating even more Eco-Art with our campers at the Cedarbrae Community Centre, starting in just a few weeks!
We are having lots of fun planning engaging Arts projects for this summer's camps! Individual and collaborative projects with creativity and fun in mind. We hope that your child will join us to explore and create this summer!!
Watch for our ad in the March/April and May/June issues of Calgary's Child magazine. We will also be included in their 2018 Summer Camp Guide!
