The Artistic Endeavours team spent three Fridays in June creating Eco-Art at Cedarbrae School.
Cedarbrae School held option classes on Friday mornings and invited us to host an option for their young artists. Our focus was on creating art projects using mainly reused materials. As one of the Fridays was World Oceans Day, we decided to "shine a light" on ocean creatures and how the children can do their part in protecting the oceans by reusing and recycling at home.
Our Division One Eco-Artists created sea turtles from reused cardboard and tissue paper, with clear plastic bowls for shells and LED lights inside. Our Division Two Eco-Artists created creatures such as dolphins, seahorses, angel fish and mahi-mahi (dolphinfish).
We look forward to creating even more Eco-Art with our campers at the Cedarbrae Community Centre, starting in just a few weeks!
